Service With a Smile

Service and civic engagement in Manchester doesn’t always look formal — sometimes it looks like having fun together as a family. From staffing safety points along City-hosted 5Ks to running a game booth at the annual Halloween event at Schroeder Park, my family and I enjoy showing up in ways that bring neighbors together and support community events.

To me, service can take many forms. It’s important that my family is included when I volunteer so they can see firsthand what it means to care for the place we call home. My husband shares this heart for service and is a volunteer in Manchester as well. By involving our children, we hope to spark a love of service in their hearts — one that grows alongside them and encourages them to continue supporting their local communities as they grow.

This is what People First. Manchester Forward. looks like to me: building community through connection, leading by example, and investing in the next generation so Manchester continues to thrive for years to come.
