Coaching youth basketball is one of the most meaningful ways I serve my community. I volunteer as a coach not only in Manchester, but also in surrounding areas, because I believe youth sports help shape confident, respectful, and resilient young people.
Basketball is a true team sport — success requires collaboration, communication, and trust. As a coach, I emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth both on and off the court. While competition matters, my players are encouraged to value character, effort, and respect over wins and losses.
Beyond the season, I host year-round open gym sessions at Schroeder Park, giving players a consistent and welcoming space for focused skill development and positive connection. Our Christmas Eve Buckets at Schroeder Park have also become an annual tradition for the families I coach — a simple but meaningful way to come together, stay active, and celebrate community during the holidays.
Through coaching and these shared experiences, I strive to create an environment where young athletes and families feel supported, connected, and encouraged to grow. This same people-first, collaborative approach guides how I serve Manchester and how I would lead as Alderman — building community, investing in our youth, and moving Manchester forward together.
